Wilson and Cian’s journey begins when they’re reunited after 15 years at Wilson’s nightclub. The two along with best friend Renee, were separated at the age of 10 due to a feud between their families.  (63. Summer) Even with lost time between them, they find a way to reconnect and rebuild on the once unbreakable friendship. Things begin to progress between them despite Cian’s denial that they are more than friends. Comments and stares fuel Cian’s determination to remain on a friend level while Wilson moves forward with what he feels for her. (64. Fall) An old friend of Wilson’s and new friend for Cian named Ramone, a half Black half Mexican smooth talker enters the picture with the intention of pursuing Cian regardless of Wilson’s visible feelings. A twenty-four hour date awarded to Wilson fr winning a bet proves that there are feelings for each other just below the surface. (55. Not Enough) Ramone resorts to a secret weapon from Wilson’s past, (Ramone’s sister) Angel. Still angry over the way things ended between them, Angel agrees to help and successful causes a rift between Cian and Wilson (70. Outside) while Ramone moves in on her and conceals a dark secret that is almost uncovered by Cian’s best friend Renee. Determined to get her friend from under Ramone’s thumb, Renee and Wilson plan a trip to an island that provides them with the time to talk and act on their true feelings for each other. (83. Anxious)

Upon their return, Ramone silences Renee and formulates a plan to get the girl he wants. (69. Inside) Playing on the racial differences and ongoing feud between their families, Ramone leads everyone to believe he and Cian are engaged, threatening her to go along with it or risk Wilson’s life. Over the course of two months, Cian endures physical, mental, and sexual abuse that soon catches the eye of Ramone’s mother. (67. Snow) The day of their engagement party, Ramone’s mother goes missing and Wilson crashes the party which ends with both Ramone and Wilson bleeding from stab wounds. (61. Holiday) Tempers rage out of control at the hospital when the father’s of Cian and Wilson come face to face for the first time in 15 years. Tired of the back and forth name calling, racial slurs, and insult, Cian tells them both off and shortly after, faints in the hospital lobby. When she comes to, Wilson is by her side with a concerned expression while her parents are on the other side of the room. She discovers the reason for her recent symptoms is due to a pregnancy which causes her to panic. An ultrasound confirms that the baby belongs to Wilson and ignites a fuse within her father who pleads with her to abort the baby. (74. Home) Choosing to go forward with the pregnancy and their relationship, Cian and Wilson find themselves disowned by their families. On the other side of the hospital, Ramone’s mother resurfaces with an FBI agent to escort them both to Mexico to be brought up on rape charges. (100. Free) Wanting a fresh start and positive environment for their son, they move to the very island they established their relationship on, marry and prepare for the birth of their son that they view as a symbol of their love and a reason to remain colorblind. (79. Months , 81. Proud)
