Two days eariler...

Wilson ran just about every light on the way to Cian’s apartment. Steering recklessly with one hand, he continued dialing her number repeatedly, each time going straight to voice mail. There was no doubt in his mind now that she was avoiding him but that was about to end. He pulled up in front of her building, barely waiting for the car to shut down completely before he hopped out and stomped toward her from door, crushing dehydrated leaves and grinding the gravel beneath his heavy boots.

He took the stairs two at a time, banging on the door as hard as he could until his fist was red and bruised. He wished it was Ramone’s face he was pounding, the so called friend that’d once again stolen his heart from him. He pounded the door again, gaining momentum as he thought more about the situation. She was marrying him, planning to spend the rest of her life allowing Ramone to kiss and hold her the way he should’ve been the last few weeks, the way he should be right this minute. 

Wilson turned his back to the door and plopped down on the cold concrete step. It didn’t matter what would come of this situation when he did speak to her, he would still fuck Ramone’s world up! For every second he spent away from her, he’d repay Ramone with a bone shattering punch. For each image that floated across his brain of Cian and Ramone being intimate, he’d repay with another punch. For each time his heart bled over the thought of no longer having her, he’d repay Ramone for.

Despite the winter air blowing against his bare arms, chilling his bones harshly, he was fuming and refused to move from that very spot. She had to come home sometime and if that meant staying there on that step the entire winter, then so be it. Wilson rubbed his head, unable to brush back thoughts of Ramone’s last words. He’d stated his plans without saying it the day he’d found out about their relationship but why was Cian ignoring him? Why hadn’t she tried to contact him and at least tell him to his face that it was over? Wilson was confused. Torn between what he knew and what he thought he’d knew and there was only one thing he knew for sure; he’d lost Cian before and this time wasn’t beyond his control. She was his and he refused to let her go without a fight.

“Will?” Renee called to him with a shaky voice. She’d sat Eric down and was about to explain everything to him when she heard the banging at the front door. Telling Wilson what’d happen was the next step after telling Eric but now that he was here, she could kill two birds with one stone, “Will come in. We need to talk.”
