The call had gone to voicemail once again, silently enraging him to the highest level. What was she doing that she couldn’t answer the phone? Or was she just not answering on purpose? Renee was keeping her from answering. Had to be! Renee had interfered before and she was doing it again, purposely keeping him from the one thing he really wanted. Pressing the rim of the bottle hard against his lips, he swallowed hard, wincing at the bitter aftertaste. His grip on the glass bottle tightened as his eyes glossed over with rage. His hands burned hot, warming the beer with each second. He desperately needed a release and would have gotten had Renee not burst into the room when she did. That bitch! He thought, taking another swig. 

With the third beer his body began to react, his vision blurred by a familiar shade of red, the voice of his conscious was slowly being drowned out. He promised he’d behave or at lay low until the dust settled but tonight he’d break that promise. He scanned the room taking in all the faces around him, studying their movements, testing their awareness as his eyes settled on a beautiful young woman with blood red hair.

She’d obviously had too much to drink as she stumbled to the dance floor, twirling her hips in a circular motion, silently begging for his touch. Her hair was short, too short for his taste but enough to grip tightly in his fist. Her skin was similar to the beautiful shade of brown of Cian’s, her breasts about the same size. He took another sip with his eyes locked on her, waiting for his moment. She stumbled once again and caught her balance before glancing up at Ramone with a drunken smile, nervously running her fingers through her hair.

 

He winked without a smile, signaling for her to join him. He planned his actions quickly, turning on the charm as she plopped down on the small cubed table next to him nearly toppling over and giggling furiously. He was in no mood to dodge motel security cameras and he’d be risking too much by taking her back to his place. Sliding her off of the table and onto his lap he settled on the back alley. It was dark and secluded and practically sound proof due to the loud music bursting through the aged bricks lining the walls. Rising from the couch he led her to the stairs and out the door without a single person noticing. When the sun finally made its appearance over the old buildings, she’d awaken in the alley with a sore body and little to no memory of what happened and for the time being, he would be satisfied.
